Relevant Licenses
Although there’s no state-level licensing, the state offers Wyoming Trades Certification Programs instead.
The Wyoming Association of Municipalities oversees these programs.
Here, you’ll take an International Code Council (ICC) exam for the following classifications:
- Journeyman HVAC
- Master HVAC
- Refrigeration Journeyman
- Refrigeration Master
- Journeyman Gas Pipe Fitter
- Master Gas Pipe Fitter
Successfully passing the ICC exam will make it easier for you to obtain employment in the state.
EPA Certification
In addition to the abovementioned licenses, you need to also obtain one mandatory national certification.
Under the Clean Air Act, any technician working with refrigerants needs to get the EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.
Depending on the equipment you’ll work with the most, you can apply for any of these types:
